Cert Property has submitted a planning application to redevelop Hilton House in Manchester’s Northern Quarter into 35,000 sq ft of flexible office space, after acquiring the property off-market late last year.
The developer’s proposals, designed by architect Stephenson Studio, include a two-storey extension, a full refurbishment of the building’s interior, and a new façade. There are also plans to create a garden to the rear of the building.
The office space will be targeted at flexible and co-working space for SMEs.
Hilton House’s ground floor bar and restaurant, The Shack, will be retained as part of the plans, while tenants on short-term leases on the upper floors will move out during the refurbishment.
A public consultation was held on the proposals last week.
