Brabners adds to planning team

Brabners Chaffe Street has appointed Iain Johnston from SGH Martineau in Birmingham as a planning partner covering the Liverpool and Manchester offices.

A specialist planning lawyer with 18 years experience, Johnston headed the planning and environment department at SGH Martineau. He is also a compulsory purchase expert and launched and established the firm's high-speed rail HS2 advisory team. Previously he practiced at HBJ Gateley Wareing and spent time working as a police officer in Greater Manchester.

At Brabners Chaffe Street he will provide strategic planning advice to a wide variety of clients including developers, landowners, local authorities, education organisations and the renewable energy sector.

Mark Brandwood, managing partner of Brabners Chaffe Street, said: "We pride ourselves on having a wealth of experience and strong technical skills and, with Iain's valuable expertise, we will enhance the strength and depth of the planning advice we offer and further broaden our support for businesses."

Johnston said he was looking forward to working on major regeneration schemes for Brabners.
