Bollington green belt site on market

Nine acres of green belt with former planning consent for residential in Bollington are among the development opportunities on offer at the next auction by Pugh & Co due to be held in June.

The land is next to Moss Brow, south of Greg Avenue, to the east of Prestbury on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Pugh said the land had consent in the early 1970s for residential development but it was allowed to lapse and subsequently the land has now been designated as green belt. Councils are coming under increasing pressure to release green belt for residential use to help address the lack of supply in the housing market. The land has a guide price of £90,000, reflecting the lack of planning permission.

Cheshire East is currently consulting on its planning strategy and options include release of hundreds of acres of green belt around Macclesfield.

There are 105 lots on the books for the Pugh auction which will take place at Old Trafford football ground on 2 June from midday.
