Berrymans expands Manchester office with Bruntwood

Manchester law firm Berrymans Lace Mawer has signed a new 15-year lease with office landlord Bruntwood for 45,000 sq ft.

A refurbishment programme is underway on its existing offices at 42 King St West as well as a newly refurbished building next door, at 40 King Street West, that will be linked at all levels to create one self-contained office.

Peter Crowther, Bruntwood development director, said: "We are delighted to have retained Berrymans Lace Mawer within our portfolio, it has been a real collaboration between customer and supplier creating an imaginative solution in what has been a very complex transaction. We have managed to combine quality product with a commitment to a customer's development and everyone involved is very pleased with the outcome."

Over the past 12 months Berrymans Lace Mawer also acquired 17,000 sq ft in Bruntwood's nearby Alberton House taking its total there to 25,000 sq ft.

King Sturge acted for Berrymans Lace Mawer in all transactions and Bruntwood represented itself.
