Bellway gets go-ahead in Crewe

Cheshire East Council has granted consent to Bellway Homes for 51 new homes at Gresty Green in Crewe.

Richard Barton, principal planner at HOW Planning, advising Bellway, said: "This is a significant approval, which will pave the way for much needed new homes in the area. We have been working very closely with our clients to ensure their plans for the area will create thriving new communities and enhance the existing surroundings."

Bellway Homes' Gresty Green development comprises a combination of semi and detached family homes and also includes areas of public open space. It will include 35% affordable housing and will be designed and constructed to provide a high level of sustainability.

The development is on land occupied by a dilapidated and unviable small holding. Bellway said it will retain mature trees and hedgerows and plant new specimens to preserve the character of the existing area.
