BDP helps agency secure 470-unit resi consents
BDP has secured two residential outline planning consents on behalf of the Homes & Communities Agency on land north of Eastway, Preston and Gemini 16 in Warrington.
The 64-acre Eastway development would deliver 300 homes and infrastructure investment, including a link road as part of the proposed Broughton bypass.
Stuart Sage, area manager at the HCA, said: "The Eastway site has long been identified as having the potential for development so it is great news that the planning application has been approved. The fact the application was supported by 14 out of 15 councillors on the planning committee is testament to the level of engagement the team put into the project."
The Gemini 16 consent secures the principle of residential development of 170 units on a site previously designated for employment use.
The council supported BDP's argument that with Omega, the large commercial scheme, being marketed as Warrington's focus for future economic growth, the provision of housing nearby would support Omega.
The development will also secure contributions allowing Warrington Council to invest in public transport.
