Bardsley completes Alder Grange facility

Tameside-based Bardsley Construction has completed the £8m Sixth Form College for Alder Grange Community Technology School in Rawtenstall, Lancashire.

Bardsley, based in Dukinfield, east Manchester, said it designed and built the post-16 college, also known as ag6, in less than 13 months after work began in January last year.

The building can cater for up to 300 students, and includes science laboratories, a media studio and performance space, a nursery and crèche facilities for child development students, a library and ICT facilities.

An all-weather sports pitch and new drainage system to enhance the existing grass sports area, a garden and a new cycle path was also installed.

Roly Bardsley, chairman of Bardsley Construction, said: "We are delighted to have completed this challenging project which places state-of-the-art teaching and recreational facilities in the heart of this community. The school and its advisors have been a pleasure to work with and through our partnering approach we have completed all work in the contract timeframe."
