Awards: Livingcity, 5plus, Aedas, Willmott Dixon

5plus Architects scooped three awards, including Design Practice of the Year, at The Mix interiors awards held at The Hilton in Manchester. The firm's work on Trafford Town Hall was named Best Public Sector Interior Project and the office fit-out of 35 Fountain Street won Small Interior Project.

Manchester-based The Livingcity Group was highly commended in the Regional Property Management Company of the Year category at the annual Property Management Awards 2013. The awards are organised by News on the Block, which provides help and advice to flat owners and professionals working in the residential flat industry. Hale-based Braemar Estates was also highly commended at the same awards ceremony, held earlier this month in London.

Birkenhead High School Academy won the 2013 Northern Design Award for Best Commercial Build. Architect Aedas and contractor Wilmott Dixon delivered the complex refurbishment, remodeling and new-build package over a number of stages to maintain complete operation of the Academy during construction works.

First Choice Homes Oldham's support for customers was recognised with an award from the national learning and development Training Journal at an awards ceremony in London. The TJ Awards are given to organisations demonstrating best practice in learning and development through programmes or initiatives that support the aims of the business or organisation and make a positive and measurable difference to the organisation. Representatives from FCHO were presented with the Bronze award in the not-for-profit category for their Key 2 Tenancy Training at the event attended by 550 learning and development professionals and experts from all sectors. The Key 2 Tenancy Training is offered to existing customers and housing applicants, and equips customers with the skills and knowledge to stay in their home, which helps to reduce rent loss and antisocial behaviour and helps to create sustainable communities.
