Awards: F Parkinson, Lovell, Riverside, P Casey

P Casey Land Reclamation, the Rochdale-based specialist restoration contractor, is to receive an award from the British Association of Landscape Industries at a ceremony in London in December. P Casey won an award in the Restoration and Regeneration category for the restoration of Stamford Park in Ashton under Lyne, Tameside. The project works comprised extensive and sensitive hard and soft landscaping to restore a large public park and provide a new pavilion and aviary and animal sanctuary. Works included de-silting of the duck pond, reconstruction of the stone banks and installing architectural metal railings around the perimeter. The main lawns were laid in terraces leading up to a walk-through fountain water feature which was paved in granite.

Contractor, F Parkinson, won Employer of the Year at this year's Be Inspired Business Awards. The main contractor with offices in Blackpool, Manchester and York was up against 11 other local businesses from Lancashire for the award. The award application process started in March and included an initial submission by F Parkinson followed by two interviews with a panel of local professionals and a number of F Parkinson staff including apprentices.

Senior site manager John Mather, of Altrincham housing developer Lovell, was named a regional winner in the National House-Building Council Health & Safety Awards. The 550-unit scheme in Beswick, called The Way, managed by Mather, won Best Site in the North.

Liverpool-based housing association Riverside has won a regional heat and been shortlisted for a national award in the sustainability category in the British Chambers of Commerce Awards finals, which take place in London in November. One national winner will be crowned Business of the Year and will walk away with a £25,000 cash prize.
