Alliance’s £100m Oxygen Tower starts on site

Main contractor Russells has started work on the construction of Oxygen Tower in Manchester for Property Alliance Group, nearly 10 years after the site stalled under previous ownership.

Permission was granted in 2007 for an £82m, 35-storey tower by developer Time & Tide, before the developer fell into administration in 2008.

PAG acquired the site in 2015 and obtained consent for three blocks designed by 5plus Architects, rising from nine storeys to 31, containing a total of 360 apartments.

Piling works are due to start this week at the site, bounded by Store Street and Millbank Street. The project is due for completion at the end of 2018.
