ACC Liverpool seeks exhibition centre sponsor

The Arena & Convention Centre Liverpool has appointed marketing agency Phar Partnerships to secure a title sponsor for the new £40m Exhibition Centre Liverpool due to open in summer 2015.

The 871,000 sq ft exhibition centre will be the latest addition to ACC Liverpool's site, alongside the Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre, both of which opened in 2008. The expansion includes a £26m hotel with 200 beds.

The exhibition centre and hotel are on site with main contractor ISG. Denton Corker Marshall is the architect.

The project to find a headline sponsor will be led by Ian Tussie, head of Phar's North West office in Manchester, who secured Phones 4U as the title sponsor of the Manchester Arena in August 2013 for Development Securities.

Tussie said: "This is a really exciting sponsorship opportunity for us to be working on. ACC Liverpool has, in its first six years, established itself as one of Europe's best venues, with the arena and convention centre attracting top class music, sport and entertainment acts as well as high-profile business conferences, enabling them to reach both a consumer and business market.

"The new exhibition centre will be one of the most impressive in the industry and offers a really exciting sponsorship opportunity for a brand to engage with a huge audience of attendees."

Tim Banfield, commercial director of ACC Liverpool, said: "Our aim is to become the UK's most exciting destination for consumer and trade exhibitions; global conferences; concerts and international sporting events.

"We are looking for a dynamic sponsor who shares this ambitious vision and are confident that Phar, thanks to its high profile track record, will help us to identify a headline sponsor and the opportunity to be involved in the market's newest facility of its kind."
