Macbryde gears up with two Welsh projects
Macbryde Homes is to start work this week on two North Wales housing developments, bringing more than 100 homes to the Rhuddlan area.
Once completed, Cysgod Y Graig in Dyserth will comprise 61 houses, ranging from two- to four-bedroom, with six of the properties affordable housing. In Rhuddlan itself at Parc Tirionfa there will be 48 new build homes – five affordable – with the scheme’s range also being two to four bedrooms.
Planning was secured in March for the latter scheme, shortly after the site’s acquisition, in what the firm said is a sign of pent-up demand in the Welsh market. Macbryde acquired eight acres from Denbighshire Council and a private seller for £3m, releasing part of the site to Anwyl for a 51-home development.
Gwyn Jones, managing director at Macbryde Homes, said: “Before we’ve even moved in on site, over 200 enquiries have been received from interested purchasers. Interestingly, these are wide-ranging enquiries that include local first-time buyers, young professionals, growing families and older couples alike. Both sites are proving equally popular and enquiries are being received for all house types.
“What this confirms is that quality new homes are desperately needed across this part of North Wales for local people and so we’re delighted to now be moving forward with these two developments.”
Sales at both sites are due to launch later this summer.
