Lost Art show reveals architects’ hidden talents
A two-day exhibition featuring work by Roger Stephenson, Simone Ridyard, Cliona Henderson, Simon Richards, Henry Pugh and Marie Bromilow launches on Wednesday evening.
The exhibition, in the offices of Ralph Capper Interiors in central Manchester, was organised by Cliona Henderson, who is also exhibiting her work. She explained: "After setting up Studio Henderson Interior design in November last year, my vision was to continue my profession as an interior designer but also to allow me to pursue my passion for painting.
"I met with Henry Pugh who runs Mix Media and we chatted about the current climate for architects and designers and how a lot of talented individuals are out there. With the industry relying heavily on computer programmes we are losing the vital key skills of the drawn line.
"This led us to talk about this 'lost art' and the idea to showcase our hidden talents in the North West, which we hope will create a platform for interior designers and architects to exhibit."
Ralph Capper Interiors is hosting the event at 10a Little Peter Street this evening from 5.30pm to 8.30pm and the show continues tomorrow from 12pm to 6pm. Mix Media is providing refreshments, Era screens have built the screens.
