Land Registry to consolidate Birkenhead offices

The Land Registry office in Old Market House will close by the end of September and be replaced by a single office at Rosebrae Court, the Government department said today.

The move is part of an ongoing review of Land Registry offices around the country which will see several offices closed and others merged.

The Birkenhead branch of the Land Registry handles paperwork for 13 local authority areas around the UK.

Land Registry offices in Harrow and York will close in 2010. Two offices will be replaced by one in each of Birkenhead, Durham, Lytham St Annes, Nottingham and Swansea.
