Kimberly-Clark eyes Lancashire depot
Global healthcare products giant Kimberly-Clark is in talks with plumbing parts supplier Wolseley over acquiring its unwanted warehouse in Chorley, Lancashire.
The deal is in the early stages of negotiation and follows the appointment of Colliers CRE recently to find a 350,000 sq ft shed on the M6 corridor.
That search has now narrowed to sites north of Runcorn. The 360,000 sq ft unit on Revolution Park was vacated by Wolseley after a business review. Wolseley subsidiary Encon occupies a 105,000 sq ft unit opposite the vacant shed, which it built and only briefly occupied after acquiring the site from Helioslough and CBRE Investors.
Kimberly-Clark has facilities in Barrow, Flint, Barton-upon-Humber, Brighton, Northfleet and Reigate. The group is well known for consumer brands such as Kleenex tissues and Huggies nappies.
Cushman & Wakefield is advising Wolseley. All parties declined to comment.
