Hargreaves appointed to build £35m Stockport industrial
Developer WUKPG has handed the contractor a £15m contract to deliver the 206,000 sq ft redevelopment of Vauxhall Industrial Estate.
Hargreaves Contracting will start the 60-week construction programme this month.
Western UK Property Group, headed up by director Oliver Lipson, lodged a planning application to overhaul the eight-acre Stockport site in 2021.
The scheme will see existing buildings at Vauxhall Industrial Estate demolished and replaced with 206,000 sq ft of modern stock across 28 units.
The units, ranging from 3,000 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft, would be delivered across five blocks.
“There’s strong demand for these types of new build units that are still in short supply as industrial development of this scale has focused on the delivery of larger sheds over the last few years,” Lipson said.
WUKPG’s project features parking spaces for 173 vehicles.
C4 Projects is leading on the design of the scheme and SATPLAN is the planning consultant.
Sixteen and DTRE have been appointed as letting agents for the scheme.
Early next year or early this year? Just for clarification.
