Dunlop Heywood acquires Longden & Cook
Manchester-based chartered surveyor Dunlop Heywood has acquired niche practice Longden & Cook for an undisclosed sum.
L&C partner Peter Townley and assistant Jayne Cleworth have moved into the new Dunlop Heywood premises on Police Street, Manchester, joining the 15-strong team at Dunlop Heywood.
Townley specialises in surveying work for religious organisations, and has acted for the Diocese of Manchester for the past 34 years, as well as the United Reform Church, the Salvation Army, the North Western Baptist Association and the Methodist Church.
Dunlop Heywood was established in 2008, and has seven offices across the UK, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The head office is in Manchester with several specialist teams based there including agency and investment, asset and property management, rating services, project and building consultancy, lease advisory and valuation services.
Stuart Hicks, managing director of Dunlop Heywood, said: "The client workload has grown massively over the years and Peter will be working with director, John Valentine on these new, high profile accounts.
"Both elements of the business will benefit from combining our expertise and resources, ensuring there is a seamless expansion of services to all our clients as we continue to grow. Part of our long-term strategy is to continue on the acquisition route and we are actively looking for new opportunities in both the Manchester and Leeds markets."
Good people…wish them all the best of luck!
