DeTrafford’s Elisabeth Gardens completes

Contractor Engie Regeneration has completed the Elisabeth Mill project in Reddish in Stockport bringing 213 homes to the market.

The Ollier Smurthwaite-designed scheme is made up of 163 one- and two-bedroom apartments joined by a central atrium within the Victorian mill. Another 50 units, a mix of houses and apartments, on a neighbouring plot, have also completed.

Elisabeth Mill connects to Victoria Mill, which was converted into apartments under a separate development.

The project is due to launch to potential buyers on 29 February. Prices start at £115,000 for a one-bed and £162,000 for a two-bed, three-beds for £260,000. Rental is also available, prices from £595/month to £750/month.

DeTrafford acquired the mill in 2012 effectively saving it from demolition after it had fallen into a state of disrepair since closing in 2003.

Chief executive and founder of DeTrafford, Gary Jackson, said: “We’ve always looked towards the future and tried to do things differently. We’ve chosen innovative materials and built new features like the communal atrium to give people more outdoor space.”

Keepmoat was appointed as lead contractor in 2017 before it was taken over by Engie.
