Delivery team named on Altcar Training Camp HQ
Contractor Whitfield & Brown has been appointed to create a £1.5m headquarters for the Reserve Forces & Cadets Associations at its Altcar Training Camp in Hightown, Merseyside.
The 1,120-acre estate, which spans dry training areas and sand dunes, and is owned by the North West and the Isle of Man division of the Reserve Forces, lies at the southern end of the Sefton Coast sand dunes and 12 miles north of Liverpool.
The site is used for small arms marksmanship training, for regular, reserve, and cadet units for military and civilian activities.
The two-storey building is to be constructed on a design-and-build basis with architect Paddock Johnson, structural engineer Curtins Consulting, building services engineer The Davies Partnership, and employer’s agent AA Projects.
The project is set to take 40-weeks and will complete by July 2020.
Whitfield & Brown director Zoe Brooke said: “We are excited to be working on this unique project and have already received positive praise in relation to respecting client wishes regarding the aesthetics of the building. Our team is looking forward to working in collaboration with the client and design team to successfully deliver this prestigious scheme.”
