Connect Business Village sold

Property investment firm Yakel Consultants has acquired the 50,000 sq ft office complex on Derby Road in Liverpool from Network Spaces for an undisclosed sum.

Half of the park, a 25,000 sq ft office building, is occupied by social enterprise firm PSS while the other half is made up of 15 self-contained, two-storey offices which range from 1,200 sq ft to 3,500 sq ft. Of these 13 are currently occupied by companies including architect Condy Lofthouse Associates and building contractors Peninsula Precast and Clinton Contractors. The two available units offer a combined 4,000 sq ft.

Manchester-based law firm Kuits advised Yakel on the purchase and property finance for the acquisition while CBRE advised Network Spaces.

Charlotte Barker, commercial property solicitor at Kuits, said: “Connect Business Village is a significant commercial development for Liverpool with the potential to be a thriving business district due to its prominent location and excellent transport links.”

Liverpool-based Yakel, founded in 2009 by Samuel Farage, is actively looking for investment opportunities in Liverpool and Manchester, specifically offices valued up to £3m and residential accommodation valued up to £2m, according to its website.

Yakel bought the grade one-listed Oriel Chambers in Liverpool from Bruntwood for an undisclosed sum in September 2019.
