Cobalt moves on next phase of Liverpool estate regeneration
Proposals for the redevelopment of part of Stonedale Crescent have been lodged with the city council.
The latest plans follow the start of a project to deliver 88 homes on a vacant plot adjoining the estate. That scheme is being brought forward by Cobalt Housing Association in partnership with Lovell Homes.
Now, Cobalt is turning its attention to the estate’s existing stock. Cobalt has submitted two applications seeking to demolish some outdated stock and deliver 71 new homes across a pair of sites.
The first seeks permission for the demolition off several vacant properties and the construction of 46 modern homes on the corner of Stonedale Crescent and Stonebridge Lane. The units would be a mix of houses and apartments.
The housing association is working with Place Capital Group on the regeneration of the Stonedale Estate.
Place Capital is working on several similar schemes including at the Mainway estate in Lancashire and Blackburn’s Shadsworth estate.
The second application is for 25 houses to the south of the estate.
MCAU, which is owned by Place Capital Group, is leading on design.
