Caddick begins Merc showroom in Carlisle
Caddick Construction has started work on a £5.9m contract to create a Mercedes-Benz showroom and workshop at Kingmoor Park in Carlisle.
The project includes a drive-through facility, cosmetic repair and wet and dry valet with associated hard standing car parking areas.
Caddick was awarded the contract by dealer Sytner in December last year and the team is scheduled to be on site for 43 weeks. The showroom will replace the existing site in Rosehill Industrial Estate, and is being relocated by Sytner in part due to the government-backed incentives available at the city’s enterprise zone.
Andrew Murray, managing director at Caddick Construction, said: “It’s great to add another contract to our ever-growing automotive portfolio and we’re very pleased to work with Sytner Mercedes-Benz for the first time. The new showroom will be visually impressive in its prominent position in Kingsmoor Park as well as meeting the expectations of customers.”
Caddick is enjoying a good run in the automotive sector, completing a £6m showroom for The Car People at Calver Lane Warrington last June, and starting a £4.1m facility for a Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Kendal in September. Both of these projects comprised around 40,000 sq ft.
The facility is expected to be open by the end of 2018.
