Bruntwood to move in May

Bruntwood is to move its Manchester headquarters to Union, its redevelopment of Commercial Union House, in late May, the firm has said.

Following the move, Bruntwood is to take slightly more than 10,000 sq ft at Union, in a space designed by Interior Architects. Fit out works are being undertaken by Dragonfly, which delivered the tech-targeted, collaboration space-forward Neo on Portland Street or the developer last year.

Bruntwood has had its central Manchester base at York House since late 2016, having departed long time home City Tower after it sold the building to Schroders.

A spokesman said that the space will include a community arts space, digital arts space  and that “the Bruntwood values will be evident right throughout the space”.

Latterly occupied by Aviva, Commercial Union House was acquired in October 2015 and plans for the redevelopment of the 67,000 sq ft building brought forward last year, with a new reception, five upper floors of workspace with new glazing and “a modern industrial feel,” including a fifth floor penthouse suite.

Floorplates range from 9,389 to 10,691 sq ft and there is 12,500 sq ft of retail at ground floor level.

The first deal at the building was agreed in October with ambitious Manchester PR firm Citypress, which signed a 14-year lease on the whole fifth floor. Citypress has now moved into the building.
