Barnfield completes aerospace tooling facility

Barnfield Construction has handed over a 34,000 sq ft facility on Burnley's aerospace supply park, Innovation Drive, to Kaman Tooling.

Kaman relocated from Darwen to the new facility, considerably increasing capacity with the move.

Mark Podmore, managing director of Kaman Tooling, said: "The site will continue to expand, and will increase to 64,000 sq ft in 2015, creating up to 50 new jobs."

Kaman Tooling is the aerosystems division of Kaman Aerospace. Innovation Drive is supported by the Regional Growth Fund. Burnley has a large aerospace presence, led by companies such as Aircelle.
