Baltic Triangle site fails to attract buyer
Administrators have failed to find a buyer for a key Liverpool site overlooking the waterfront, despite a marketing campaign to 800 developers.
A legal battle between Windsor Developments (Liverpool) and contractors Laing O'Rourke led to administrators being brought in to handle the future of The Baltic Triangle site, which lies just off The Strand, last spring.
A £50m, high rise apartment scheme comprising three blocks, which would have been situated on the former premises of chandlers Joseph Lamb and Sons, was originally planned to kick-start the area's revival.
But the plans fell apart when Windsor ceased trading last year.
Since March 2007, BDO Stoy Haywood has been overseeing the administration of Windsor Developments (Liverpool).
Agents Savills placed the site on the market in August 2007, but none of the offers made were deemed to be acceptable.
Barclays has now granted BDO permission to extend the administration until September.
