Ancoat’s Fairbairn fully let
The Homes & Communities Agency has signed two independent food and drink operators to its Fairbairn building, with Rudy's Pizza and Goose Fat & Wild Garlic opening in July.
Rudy's Pizza will occupy 3,000 sq.ft while Goose Fat & Wild Garlic will occupy the neighbouring 4,000 sq.ft unit, meaning that the 7,000 sq ft building in Cotton Street is now fully let.
The units will be both Rudy's and Goose Fat's first outlets.
Marie Hodgson, head of area for Greater Manchester at the HCA, said: "It's brilliant to see new restaurant uses emerging in Ancoats that will complement the area's existing residential and office based developments.
"The Fairbairn Building overlooks Cutting Room Square and is positioned directly opposite Halle St Peters, so has always had fantastic potential to host food and drink operators. It's great that the building will finally be brought to life through these two restaurant businesses."
The letting of space at the Fairbairn Building is expected to be the first of a wave of new food and drink occupiers in Ancoats.
The news follows the HCA's recent announcement that it will be investing £1.2m into its commercial estate in Ancoats. This will involve a comprehensive upgrade of the Fairbairn building, the Royal Mills building and the NUOVO building on Great Ancoats Street.
F Parkinson has been appointed as HCA's contractors for the commercial upgrade works at Fairbairn and Bilfinger GVA are HCA's sole lettings agents.
