Abseil down Hill Dickinson office for SPLOSH
Members of Liverpool's business community are being invited to take part in an abseil event to raise money for the charity in memory of Paul Rice, chief executive of Liverpool Commercial District Partnership.
Law firm Hill Dickinson is staging the fundraising drive on 16 and 17 March for its nominated charities managed by the Community Foundation for Merseyside and SPLOSH – Staff, Patients and Loved Ones Supporting Haematology – the charity founded by the late Paul Rice, who died after an 18 month battle with blood cancer earlier this year.
It is hoped that around £10,000 will be raised through sponsorship. Those taking part in the 120-foot abseil down Hill Dickinson's office at 1 St Paul's Square are asked to raise a minimum of £50 which must be presented by cash or cheque on the day.
Andrew Rushworth, HR director of Hill Dickinson, said: "This will be an exhilarating experience and will allow people to see Liverpool from a completely new perspective. We are delighted to be hosting the event which will raise money for extremely worthwhile local charities which need support."
SPLOSH will raise funds to help people who need the care and support of the staff in the Haematology Department at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
The Community Foundation for Merseyside distributes funds across the region designed to improve the quality of life for people in some of its most disadvantaged areas. The foundation promotes philanthropy, facilitates grants and is committed to implementing positive social change.
The abseils will take place between 9am and 5pm on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 March. Bookings must be made in advance. To register call 0151-600-8288 or email sam.evans@hilldickinson.com
