Townscape Architects designed the scheme, which will see the creation of a rooftop bar and two floors of activities, including e-karting, bowling and urban golf.
When complete, the Liverpool 100,000 sq ft site will be the largest location for Gravity Active Entertainment, which operates dozens of entertainment venues in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
“This is a significant step in our journey, with the new Liverpool One flagship bringing together everything we have learned, as we continue to evolve our experiences to offer something that is truly redefining UK leisure,” said Michael Harrison, co-founder and chief growth officer at Gravity.”

To move plans along, Momentum is reconfiguring the Debenhams building for Gravity on behalf of landlord Grosvenor. Grosvenor is also helping Gravity with the fit-out.
Harrison praised the Grosvenor team, saying “It has been great working with Grosvenor and its team, all of whom share our passion and commitment to creating something unique in the heart of this fantastic city”.
Alison Clegg, managing director of asset management at Grosvenor, said: “This is going to be a fantastic new anchor that provides additional reasons to visit or extend an existing trip, and reaffirms Liverpool One’s position as the UK’s leading retail and entertainment destination.”
An estimated 700,000-plus visitors will come to the Liverpool flagship venue, according to Gravity. The company also estimates that those visitors will spend an average of four hours at the site.
Avison Young is the planning consultant for the Gravity project and, in February, helped secure consent to change the retail site into one suitable for leisure use. In April, Gravity was confirmed as the operator for the entertainment hotspot. Savills represented Gravity on the deal with Grosvenor. Metis and Starka acted for Grosvenor.

Looks horrible. Nothing but overpriced alcohol that the city has enough issues with. I’m 48 lived her all my life and that place would be a trash can in less than 12 months. Absolutely shocking it even considered.

This looks great and will attract families, works parties etc etc, will be a go-to on winter days as well, entertainment all under one roof, can they put one in New Brighton too.
All solid investment is good but we need more commercial jobs in the city too and for the developers to see Liverpool not just as an entertainment or leisure attraction but a great place to do business as well, and therefore we require office buildings on site to attract them.

How does this fit in with M&S moving there. Won’t it make that store really small?

Hopefully this is family friendly, places like pins on Duke Street are aimed at the student/night out crowd.

I can’t see this adding anything of quality to Liverpool One. It holds too many memories of the great zip wire debacle for me.

Absolutely fantastic, what a way to brighten up peoples lives in these hard miserable times. I say anyone who doubts it should have a look at Gravity’s other venues which are always packed with adults and children enjoying themselves. Well done all at Gravity.
