Capita confirms 35,000 sq ft deal at Churchgate House
Helical has confirmed the 35,000 sq ft letting to Capita Business Services at Churchgate & Lee House in Manchester, a move first reported by Place North West in May this year.
The deal is part of a wider restructuring of the Capita and GL Hearn businesses in Manchester.
In May, GL Hearn staff moved out of Vantage Point in Spinningfields, into The Observatory, where the Capita Real Estate division has been based for a number of years.
Capita’s deal at Churchgate & Lee House on Oxford Road is to create a Manchester hub and comprises three separate lettings; once the move is finalised, The Observatory would then be vacated.
The wider restructure has also seen head of GL Hearn’s Manchester office Deborah McLaughlin depart to become an independent consultant. Last year, Capita Real Estate & Infrastructure also consolidated its four divisions into two.
Helical, the building’s owner, confirmed the deal in a stock market release this morning, along with two lettings totalling 4,500 sq ft at Fourways House.
Edwards & Co and CBRE are the retained agents for the interlinked Churchgate & Lee House, which also count GMCA and GlobalData among their tenants.
