Lovell plans 2019 start date on £45m Leyland homes
Homes England and Lovell have signed an agreement to deliver 200 homes on a greenfield site in Leyland, with the housebuilder aiming to start on a 36-month construction programme next year.
Lovell has agreed to purchase the 22 acre site from Homes England, and will build 140 homes for open market sale alongside 60 affordable houses with its partner Together Housing Group.
The housing mix for private sale includes seven bungalows; 33 three-bedroom houses; 73 four-beds; and 27 five-beds.
The homes will be delivered as part of the Government’s Accelerated Construction initiative, where houses will be built at double the monthly rate for the local area, using techniques including a closed panel, pre-insulated timber frame system, alongside using pre-formed floor and roof cassettes.
The scheme is set to start at the beginning of 2019, and will complete in late in 2021. The first homes will be available for sale next summer.
Bruce Lister, regional regeneration director of Lovell’s North West Region said: “South Ribble is one of the country’s most attractive development locations, and we are delighted to have been selected as Homes England’s development partner for the Altcar Lane project.
“Our proposal aims to create a strong identity that complements the local surroundings. The existing footpath with mature hedgerow and trees will be retained to create a green corridor running through the site, with houses carefully orientated to overlook this attractive new linear park.”
The Government’s Accelerated Construction programme was launched in January last year.
