MediaCity announces first three Tomorrow deals
Tomorrow, the tech workspace launched at MediaCityUK in September, has agreed deals with its first three occupiers – a connectivity provider, a radio production company and a design agency.
New to MediaCityUK and the first confirmed occupier is Global Capacity, a “connectivity as a service” business serving telecommunications carriers and managed service providers. It has offices across the US including California, Illinois and Texas, and will run its UK operations from a 2,227 sq ft office on the first floor of Tomorrow.
Radio production business Audio Always is to expand from its previous space in the nearby Greenhouse building, where it launched as a start-up in 2012. It will occupy 957 sq ft at Tomorrow, in a space that features two studios designed for delivering voiceover sessions, interviews and audio post production.
Branding and digital agency, Carbon Creative is the third confirmed occupier. The eco-friendly design consultancy currently has 14 staff.
Stephen Wild, managing director of MediaCityUK, said: “The first tranche of occupiers for Tomorrow represent an eclectic mix of key players in the creative and tech markets. It’s great to see the vision of MediaCityUK as an ecosystem for start-ups come to fruition, progressing to larger spaces as they thrive.”
The Tomorrow building comprises eight floors of creative workspace and a 112-bed Premier Inn over a further four floors. Fit-out work has started on Ziferblat, a co-working space and pay-per-minute sitting room, which will occupy 6,000 sq ft over Tomorrow’s ground floor and mezzanine levels.
MediaCityUK is represented by Edwards & Co and OBI Property.
