Prescot Park resi increased by 100 homes
Knowsley Council has approved reworked plans for a residential scheme at a 60-acre site in Prescot, allowing for an expansion in size from 623 to 750 houses.
The project at the former BICC Rod Rollers factory plot is being delivered by developer and site owner Prescot Business Park, a joint venture between industrial property specialist Michael James and TJ Morris founder Tom Morris.
The developer was granted planning permission for an 84,000 sq ft commercial and industrial waste facility on the site in 2011. However construction never progressed, and the developer then reworked its proposals for the plot.
The plans for the development of 623 homes, known as Prescot Park, were previously approved by Knowsley Council in January 2014.
McAuliffe Group started on site in January 2015 with the first phase of construction, a 28-week programme of remediation and demolition activity which has so far seen the removal of more than one million tonnes of earth.
The developer is currently finalising contracts with a number of regional and national housebuilders to deliver the scheme, and the first new homes are expected to start on site later this year.
Prescot Park will also include a £5m Home Bargains store, close to the existing Cables Retail Park area.
The site is next to St Modwen’s Prescot Business Park, a 250,000 sq ft industrial development.
