Global Radio to broadcast from XYZ
Allied London has announced the first tenant to sign for space within its XYZ building, which is currently under construction in Spinningfields, Manchester.
Global, the media and entertainment group, will occupy 16,699 sq ft across the top two floors, consolidating its two current offices in Salford Quays.
Global is home to three commercial radio brands Capital, Heart and Classic FM, and news talk station LBC. The group will relocate to XYZ when the building opens in the autumn of 2016.
XYZ Spinningfields aims to deliver flexible workspace for the TMT sector.
Around 20% of XYZ will be amenity space, including restaurants and cafes, co-work space, event and conference rooms, a screening and cinema room, terraces and garden alongside a bike park and personal fitness studio.
Global’s fit-out will include broadcasting studios with Capital and Heart to broadcast live from XYZ.
Michael Ingall, chief executive of Allied London, said: “XYZ is a concept that we have dedicated years of design and research to.
“We have several other parties in detailed negotiations for XYZ, all of whom understand the concept and are able to define the difference in the XYZ workspace offering.
“Global have really grasped the concept of XYZ and we look forward to seeing how they engage with XYZ.”
