Rowland Homes submits housing plans
Leyland-based house builder Rowland Homes has submitted a planning application for a residential development on a 5-acre site in Longridge, Preston.
Working on behalf of Rowland Homes, property consultants GL Hearn submitted plans for 49 two, three and four-bedroom homes on the site, located off Lower Lane and Dilworth Lane.
GL Hearn said the submission of a planning application was subject to detailed pre-application discussions with Ribble Valley Council's planning team.
Rowland Homes also appointed the land and planning team at GL Hearn's Manchester office to negotiate terms for the option to buy the site from a private owner for an undisclosed sum.
GL Hearn added that it was stated in the Ribble Valley Annual Monitoring Report 2010 that on average, 60% of people are unable to afford entry level housing in the Ribble Valley area.
The property consultants said Rowland Homes' scheme includes 14 affordable housing units which will be provided to meet this local need.
Richard Heathcote, director at GL Hearn, said: "We are very pleased to have been given the opportunity to assist our client Rowland Homes in securing a site which has been in a neglected state for several years, and putting it to an efficient use with the incorporation of affordable housing in order to meet local needs."
I’m only trying to help you, Roland.
