Approval for 460 homes across Cheshire East

Cheshire East’s strategic planning board has given reserved matters consent to 460 homes across three sites in Holmes Chapel, Sandbach and Leighton.

The meeting on Wednesday 26 August signed-off three out of four of the residential developments put forward for consideration.

In Middlewich Road, Holmes Chapel, Persimmon Homes submitted plans for 80 homes including 24 affordable properties, alongside the creation of public space and a children’s play area.

Redrow Homes and Anwyl Homes outlined a scheme of 154 two-storey detached, semi-detached and mews dwellings, with the development of a community park on land east of Abbey Road in Sandbach.

In Parkers Road in Leighton, near Crewe, Bloor Homes obtained reserved matters approval for the development on a site which already has outline permission for 400 homes. The latest phase will see the construction of 223 homes.

Plans for a 175-home scheme in Park Road, Willaston, by developer Stretton Willaston was refused due to its location within the green gap and the lack of highways information within the application.
