Manchester City Council aims to be in the top-flight of world-class cities, with a dynamic economy and highly skilled people; to be well-connected, limiting climate change; and helping all of us feel safe and live well in our attractive and welcoming city. We are a city with a rich history, a vibrant present-day, and much to look forward to in the future.

Central to our success and our future plans is the development which is taking place in the City. We have a number of nationally significant schemes including the Eastern Gateway (including Ancoats & New Islington, Holt Town and the Sportcity Campus), Victoria North (delivering15,000 new homes), the regeneration of Strangeways and the redevelopment of Wythenshawe town centre. We are leading the creation of great places that bring people and communities together, attract investment and ensure that Manchester continues to thrive.

We are seeking an assistant director, development & investment estate to play a pivotal role in ensuring the future development of our City is delivered. You will provide leadership to our highly skilled team leading on regeneration, development viability and institutional investment across the city, supporting the delivery of our objectives for growth, new homes and economic growth, whilst ensuring that we meet our environmental, quality and sustainability commitments.

You will have a strong technical background in surveying, an awareness of the changing legislative environment, and track record of delivering a wide range of regeneration and development mixed use schemes while achieving best value from our multi-billion-pound assets and estate. Crucially, you will be a leader who is able to inspire and motivate a diverse multidisciplinary workforce, role-modelling our values and demonstrating a passion for our City and what we stand for. Just as important will be your ability to deliver positive outcomes for Manchester.

This is an outstanding opportunity to enable you to make your mark on a vibrant internationally renowned City!
