BCEGI to start on 23-storey Eccles tower in April

The China-backed contractor has been awarded the £41m contract to construct the 272-apartment building off Church Street.

According to the construction management plan, Arelsco Ventures is the client for the project. Silverlane Developments is the client’s representative.

BCEGI’s contact with Arelsco begins in April, with an estimated completion of April 2025. Foundations are to begin being set in June 2022, with the work on the sub-structure beginning a month later. BCEGI will begin work on the envelope in January 2023. Fitout is scheduled for April 2023.

Jeffrey Bell Architects is the architect for the tower. Booth King is the structural engineer and Ridge is the M&E engineer.

The Church Street tower has been in the works for more than two years, with Silverlane securing planning permission for the project in 2019. The approved application also includes more than 7,300 sq ft of commercial space.

Other consultants on the Church Street development include Hydrock, Curtins, Iceni Projects and Hann Tucker Associates.

An awful looking scheme that removes part of Old Eccles.

Eyesore,, more traffic pollution, more problem with traffic. Shame on you Salford planning .. sold us out again

Old Eccles? Precious little if that left. It does need some regeneration in the centre and this will undoubtedly help. As has already been mentioned Eccles is brilliantly connected by tram , train and car to the city centre and beyond. Monton may have gotten all the shine in recent years but that money will spread out as more jobs move to Manchester.

Finally! regeneration within Eccles town centre, much needed investment, which should kick start further developments to bring back life to the centre. Hopefully next is the awful multi-story car and “shopping centre”. Let’s get a market like Bury!

By MJ

Over the years Eccles has become ghost town with more pubs than shops. The regeneration program will, hopefully, give us a decent shopping area.

Check out the Mandale Homes Church Street development on the old Woolworths site. Eccles will never be the same again. Manchester`s Notting Hill…

The tenants in this new build won’t bother with Eccles and it’s few crummy shops they’ll just be jumping on the train/tram or m602 into Manchester. It won’t boost Eccles one jot. Get rid of the precinct it’s embarrassing whilst you’re at it.

1 question where are all these people going to park there cars we don’t have enough parking spaces in Eccles…🤔🤔
