Movement on Manchester resi sites
DeTrafford’s Sky Gardens in Castlefield has become the latest site to get a piling drill as construction begins, and preparatory works have also started at Bruntwood and Select’s Riverside in Salford.
The Sky Gardens marks the second phase of DeTrafford’s residential project at 210 Chester Road, and sits next to the Roof Gardens development.
DeTrafford is building 166 homes, made up of penthouses, triplexes, duplexes and loft apartments with private gardens and terraces for many.
PP O’Connor is the demolition contractor. Ollier Smurthwaite is the architect.
At Riverside, preparatory works for a 16-storey tower are getting under way. A joint venture between Bruntwood and Select Property Group has planning permission for two buildings of 33 storeys and 16 storeys on the banks of the River Irwell.
The scheme, which will operate under Select’s Affinity Living brand, is located on the riverside footpath that links Spinningfields to Blackfriars Street.
The first building to come forward, Affinity Living Riverside, will total 188 apartments. The flats will be for the build-to-rent market and targeted at young professionals.
Denton Corker Marshall is the architect.
