Join Burnley Council at this special event in Manchester, which will showcase the latest housing, retail and student accommodation opportunities available in the growing Lancashire town.

This year has seen Burnley Council adopt its Local Plan, which will guide development into the 2030s, and is developing its Town Centre Masterplan.

The half-day conference on Tuesday 30 October will discuss the shovel-ready sites for housebuilders, the opportunities for retailers in a regenerated town centre, and the impact of Burnley’s strengthening position as a digital hub.

With the University of Central Lancashire’s well-established Burnley campus attracting a wider range of students every year, the event will also discuss how best to deliver on the accommodation and leisure needs of an increasingly youthful town.

Speakers confirmed so far include:

Mick Cartledge, chief executive, Burnley Council

Cllr Mark Townsend, leader of Burnley Council

Kate Ingram, head of economy & growth, Burnley Council

Andrew Dewhurst, director, Maple Grove Developments

Tim Webber, chairman, Barnfield Construction

Caroline Baker, partner and head of Manchester office, Cushman & Wakefield

Cllr Michael Green, cabinet member for economic growth, development & planning, Lancashire County Council

Dr Ebrahim Adia, provost at the University of Central Lancashire

Debbie Hernon, manager, Charter Walk Shopping Centre

David Walker, managing director, 24 Marketing, co-founder of The Landmark

Ian Scott, director and head of build-to-rent at Lambert Smith Hampton

Event chaired by Jessica Middleton-Pugh, editor, Place North West

The conference will take place at the Science & Industry Museum in Manchester, with an 8am start to networking, and presentations starting at 8.30am. The conference will end at noon for lunch.

Tickets cost £50+VAT.
