A prestigious, independent property consultancy is searching for a top Building Surveyor candidate to join it in Manchester.
This multi-professional practice operates within the infrastructure, property, and construction sectors, and prides itself on being a great place to work with clear routes for further progression. As such, this is a great opportunity for the right surveying professional.
To be successful within this Manchester-based role, you will be an experienced Building Surveyor with a background in general surveying duties. This will preferably have been focussed on public-sector developments. You will also have prior project management expertise, especially dealing with refurbishments, alterations, and maintenance. This role will involve travel to other sites and to meet clients, so a full driving license will be required.
Your key duties will include:
- Carrying out inspections and surveys
- Managing project schedules
- Working closely with a small team to deliver great results
- Handling the overall management of North West-based schemes
The chosen candidate will be working on a variety of public-sector projects, such as education, local and central government, and healthcare programmes. As such, you will be provided with the opportunities to make your mark within this surveying position, as well as to expand upon your in-sector knowledge further.
Therefore, it will help if you already have experience of handling stock condition surveys, along with such building surveying matters as dilapidations, party walls, pre-acquisition and measured surveys, move management, and contract administration. You will also possess an understanding of preparing specifications and plans, and of fundamental building principles.
The right candidate will be a great communicator, who is adept at influencing and advising clients, while developing key relationships. You will also be a RICS or CIOB member, with clients going through their APCs able to be considered. Additionally, you will have the ability to keep tabs on and create reports about the expenditure and progress of projects.
In return, this leading property practice can offer you a highly competitive salary, as well as 26 days’ holiday, life assurance, paid professional subscriptions, and a range of other benefits. These include season tickets and car loans, training and education opportunities, and childcare vouchers.
