An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Town Centre Planning Manager to join our Development Management Team. The team has an increasingly busy workload as development interest in the borough continues to grow.

Following an increase in application numbers, we are looking to recruit new planning officers to play key roles in supporting Stockport’s ambitious growth agenda in ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality development for the benefit of all.

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic planning professional with sound judgement and a commitment to quality place-making and sustainability. You will be able to thrive in a dynamic, sometimes challenging but ultimately rewarding and supportive environment. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic and creative planning professional who is able to work under their own initiative to lead on all development management matters for major planning proposals within Stockport town centre.

You will have a proven record of dealing with major, high-profile and contentious strategic planning applications, managing professional staff across multiple disciplines and delivering high-quality outcomes. Experience in design and heritage matters would be particularly advantageous.
