About us

This is a fantastic time to join team Salford. The city is being transformed through unprecedented levels of development and investment and this growth trajectory is set to continue.

Significant economic growth has been experienced in recent years across key strategic locations in the city including Central Salford and Media City, leading to new jobs and homes, and establishing ourselves as the fastest growing location in Greater Manchester. However, there is still much more to come with the future pipeline identifying the continued expansion of these core urban areas alongside significant opportunities for local towns and neighbourhoods to be transformed.

The Councils multidisciplinary Regeneration service is a key driver of this growth, playing a vital role in the forging of successful partnership arrangements with both public and private sector parties in pursuit of an ambitious placemaking agenda. It is within this context of sustained growth that we are now seeking to grow our Regeneration service with new roles within our Development Team.

We are seeking experienced professionals with a background in placemaking and regeneration who can bring experience, ideas, and new perspectives to Salford. We want to hear from highly motivated individuals willing to take ownership of an exciting and significant portfolio of work, to drive forward a visible and positive contribution to Salford’s inclusive growth ambitions for the benefit of our diverse communities.

About the role

Regeneration Project Manager (Development Team)

This role provides a unique opportunity to shape future regeneration and placemaking across Salford. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering high profile regeneration projects, strategies, and programmes from inception to handover and will support the Council’s Area Leads for the City’s strategic growth areas: City Centre Salford, The Quays and Media City, Greater Manchester Western Gateway, and Salford’s Towns.

Given the nature of this role, we would welcome applicants with a background in development, regeneration, and project/programme management, with proven skills and ability in a similar role and a record of delivering outcomes. We are looking for applicants with the ability to engage with developers and investors to secure growth and ensure quality placemaking is at the heart of new development. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of leading, implementing and managing a range of multi-agency complex projects to deliver physical and economic regeneration.
