Client-Side Senior Development Surveyor

The Client:

Our client is one of the UK’s largest commercial property companies, that provides high quality commercial premises to companies across a range of different business sectors, throughout the UK.

To support ambitious growth plans for the clients’ development pipeline, as a Senior Development Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading critical large-scale projects from inception to completion, shaping the development strategy and working with the Development Director to create and effectively execute the development business plan.

Providing experience and support to Development Managers and the wider team, your duties & responsibilities shall include:

• performance and delivery of key projects, including both new build and large-scale refurbishment projects
• bringing forward viable opportunities for approval
• review opportunities for reinvention within the existing portfolio
• Developing and managing the relationships with public bodies, JV partners, planners, consultants etc.
• Evaluating development sites, conducting research, and presentation of the information
• Financial appraisal of opportunities
• Bidding for new opportunities
• Being responsible for successful design and delivery of schemes – commercial / retail / leisure / mixed use – working with the Project Management team from concept through the RIBA stages to completion and handover.
• Managing costs against return
• Working with colleagues within commercial, asset management, finance, and marketing.
• Collating reports for Management Team and to the Board.
• Potential for people management and mentoring as the team grows.

The Individual:

• A Degree or Masters level equivalent qualification
• RICS qualified – ideal, not essential
• Experience of leading on new build, and large-scale refurbishment of commercial developments from inception to completion
• Experience of sustainable design and delivery of commercially led schemes
• Ability to build strong, key stakeholder relationships
• A keen interest in property, property development, sustainability and technology
• An interest in future trends in property to shape future product offering
• High levels of numeracy, literacy and communication
• The ability to manage several tasks / projects simultaneously
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify new opportunities
• A natural coaching style, passionate about leading and empowering teams to perform
• Committed to continuing personal and professional development
• Ability to travel to work across the UK when required.
