Knowsley Council invites applications for two Building Surveyor posts in the Building Projects and Maintenance Team within the Council’s Assets Service.

If you hold a degree in building surveying or an equivalent qualification, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic local authority. Both roles are responsible for ensuring the Council’s operational property assets are efficiently and effectively maintained, compliant and fit for purpose to facilitate the provision of excellent services.

The successful candidates will play a key role in providing support to the Building Projects, Maintenance and Compliance Teams. The postholders will also provide direct support to the Group Manager and be responsible for the management of building projects in relation to the following:-

• The delivery of small to medium sized building refurbishments and improvements including preparation of specifications, tender packages, contract management and administration and budget responsibility
• The provision of support to the Group Manager and Head of Service as part of the School Buildings Improvement Programme
• Management of all aspects of construction contracts and contractors
• The day-to-day maintenance of the Council’s operational properties

You will need excellent project management skills, good communication skills and be capable of working with limited supervision together with a proven track record of managing building contracts, contractors, clients and external agencies.
