- DAVID ROLINSON, SPAWFORTHS | David is a chartered town planner and chairman at Spawforths. With over three & a half decades of experience working as a planning consultant based in Yorkshire, David advises a wide range of industrial & logistics clients including big box logistics & last mile developers; land promoters; inward investors; & SMEs. David provides advice on all aspects of planning & development & regularly gives evidence at major Public Inquiries including on sites within the Green Belt. David is also a member of the Leeds Chamber of Commerce Property Steering Group and co-chairs the Chamber Planning & Housing Forum.
- JAMES APPLETON-METCALFE, CITIVALE | James is the chief executive officer & founder of Citivale. His role includes responsibility for the overall business of Citivale & investment strategy. James started his career with BNP Paribas, working in the investment team. He then moved to be a fund manager with CBREIM working predominantly on high income funds in the industrial sector covering the UK. In 2010 he set up Citivale working with UK institutions & private equity aggregating portfolios across the UK & delivering developments utilising a bottom-up asset management & development skills approach, but with a top-down perspective. Citivale currently has c£500m of AUM & in excess of 2m sq ft of industrial development pipeline.
- SEAN ROONEY, ENVIRONMENT BANK | Sean is a chartered Planner, with a broad background facilitating developments ranging from NSIPs, to remediation schemes, nuclear/renewable energy, mixed-use, commercial, leisure, industrial & residential developments. Sean works at Environment Bank assisting developers in meeting mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements through using off-site Biodiversity Units from it’s national network of Habitat Banks.
- ALEX DOCHERY, BUSINESS DONCASTER AT DONCASTER COUNCIL | Alex manages the investment team at Business Doncaster, Doncaster Council’s economic development arm. Acting as a front door for commercial developers & investors, the investment team is responsible for attracting inward investment into Doncaster, supporting indigenous business growth & promoting Doncaster as the best place to live, work & invest in. Passionate about economic development & making a difference to local communities, Alex has been in local government for nine years.
- RICHARD BEASON, NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNCIL | Richard is economic development manager with North Yorkshire council with extensive experience in both the public & private sectors with a particular focus on regenerating large brownfield sites, working with developers, investors & occupants to bring investment, growth & employment to North Yorkshire & raise awareness of the area as not only a great place to live but also to work & invest.
- JONATHAN UFTON, UBS | Jonny has over two decades’ experience in the UK commercial property sector, now working at UBS as an investment manager, primarily for their primary core fund, Triton Property Fund, but also across other pan-European mandates. Recent exposure to the Yorkshire Industrial market has come in the development of Velocity Point Industrial Estate, a mile from Leeds city centre, on the former Premier Farnell site. The 9 unit 250,000sqft scheme PC’ed in November 2023 & has subsequently seen strong letting activity, with only one 20,000sqft unit remaining vacant. Given such success, UBS are looking for similar opportunities.
