Workshop Content In a rapidly advancing world of technology, it can be difficult for a small business to keep up with the pace of change. The effective use of your IT systems can not only make your job easier, it can also make your company more productive with potential bottom line benefits. Looking specifically at the construction industry, this workshop will help you to make considered decisions on improving your current IT systems, for example: • Networks • Communication Software • Databases • Remote working • IT Support Agenda 09.15 – Coffee & biscuits, networking & registration 09.30 – Prompt Start 13.15 – Lunch / Finish Who Should Attend? A technical background in IT is not a requirement, as many aspects of the effective use of IT relate to admin processes or purchase choices rather than technical implementation. This workshop is aimed at the individuals who make the key decisions within their organisation on the use of IT products (software or hardware); or those that determine the organisation’s purchasing requirements for IT related products. The approach is informal and highly participative with active discussion, exchange of ideas, exercises and group work. Registration The University of Salford are pleased to provide this free workshop as part of the Construction Knowledge Exchange. If you would like to join us for this event please note places are limited. To confirm yours, please email Rachel Lilley at r.lilley@salford.ac.uk or call on 0161 295 4177 by 1st May.
