Urbanized film screening

Date: 19 January 2012, 6:30 - 12:00

Location: Deaf Institute, 135 Grosvenor Street, Manchester

Our Studio has arranged for the screening of documentary film, Urbanized by Gary Hustwit, at the Deaf Institute on Thursday 19 January, 6.30pm.

Urbanized is a feature-length documentary about the design of cities, which looks at the issues and strategies behind urban design and features some of the world's foremost architects, planners, policymakers, builders, and thinkers.

Martin Ellerby will introduce the film and encourage debate on its themes and messages and how they could apply to Manchester. Martin is an experienced urbanist who has worked in architecture, urban design, planning and more recently, development. He has advised Manchester City Council on several large-scale regeneration initiatives and undertaken research projects into sustainable urban expansion.
