- PAM SMITH | NEWCASTLE CITY COUNCIL | Pam Smith joined Newcastle City Council as Chief Executive in January 2022 having been Chief Executive at Stockport Council since 2017. Prior to that, she was Chief Executive of Burnley Council and has also worked for the Audit Commission and in the private sector. Pam is the Solace lead spokesperson for Economic Prosperity and a Fellow of the RSA. Pam is known for building strong teams that deliver for residents. She led the University Town transformation in Burnley and the £1bn regeneration and transformation of Stockport including being a champion of the Mayoral Development Corporation which accelerated growth and opportunities for its residents.
- ALISTAIR CHAPMAN, CBRE | Alistair leads CBRE's Development Advisory business from his Manchester base, advising clients on multiple property sectors across the UK whilst also leading CBRE's Local Government services. He specialises in complex development situations, where he strategically advises clients on how to maximise value, reduce risk & deliver. Alistair is currently working on the Strategic Regeneration Framework for Town Centre East in Stockport, the Crompton Place developer procurement in Bolton & solutions for Temporary Accommodation requirements faced by Local Authorities.
- NUALA GALLAGHER, LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL | Nuala has more than two decades of experience in development & placemaking internationally. She is a registered architect & a graduate of Columbia University with a master’s in urban design. In 2023, Nuala joined Liverpool City Council, where she is currently corporate director of city development. Nuala’s previous roles include director of planning, environment & placemaking at Limerick City and County Council, head of regeneration for the London Borough of Newham, director for economy of place at Bristol City Council and director of city centre development at Belfast City Council.
- PETER CONNOLLY | IGLOO REGENERATION | Peter joined igloo in 2006 and as Chief Executive since 2008, Peter leads igloo’s £1bn+ programme of sustainable urban development and investment.With the support of the igloo board and senior management team, Peter is responsible for igloo’s growth strategy, overseeing the successful funding and delivery of over 30 national strategic regeneration projects.Peter has led the creation of multiple successful national JV partnerships between igloo with both public and private partners, and managed client relationships at all levels.
- BECCA HERON | MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL | Becca has a key role in the delivery of the ambitions set out in the Our Manchester strategy, leading the city’s recovery following the pandemic, & building on the successes of the last two decades to drive inclusive growth.
- PAUL JOHNSON | SOUTH YORKSHIRE MAYORAL COMBINED AUTHORITY | Paul joined SYMCA in 2018. Currently, he’s the Strategic Lead for the South Yorkshire Investment Zone. This is a £160m programme for start-ups, spin-outs, and scale-up opportunities, which offers flexible funding across R&D, skills, infrastructure, and business support to address viability gaps in the region. Before this, he was Head of Economic Policy and designed and was responsible for South Yorkshire’s £47m UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
