Twilight Seminar – Action Learning: An innovative approach to business improvement

Date: 28 February 2008, 4:30 - 12:00

Location: CUBE, Manchester

Email: events@cube.org.uk

The Construction Knowledge Exchange North West (CKE NW) and its team of knowledge brokers and researchers has been working with the School of the Built Environment at the University of Salford, with companies, and with the business support community to promote knowledge exchange within the construction industry and to improve the built environment. The main strategy involves creating small groups of practitioners, called Innovation Circles, who meet to exchange knowledge on issues that interest them, and to develop effective ways to address those issues. The presentation will outline some of the groundbreaking partnerships which have led to highly successful action learning sets across the NW. The speakers will highlight the key benefits and illustrate the positive contribution to the construction industry that has been made by the project. Speakers are Alex Wharton, Construction Knowledge Exchange NW; Julie Lawrenson, ConstructionSkills; Carl Abbott, SCRI.
