Leading figures from across the housing sector are set to debate some of the most contentious issues facing the industry as the annual North West Housing Conference returns to Liverpool on Friday 4 November.
With home ownership levels now at 64%, down from 71% in 2003, and the average number of first-time buyers continuing to fall, the ownership vs. rent debate is one of the most important issues currently affecting the industry.
Delegates will have the opportunity to put questions to a panel of specialists at the “Homes for All: Ownership vs. Rent” debate, in addition to hearing a number of keynote speakers explore the economic realities facing the sector.
Speakers include Paul Smee, director general, Council for Mortgage Lenders; Julie Fadden, chief executive, The SLH Group; Gill Payne, director of policy and external affairs, National Housing Federation and Chris Hancock, head of housing, Crisis UK. The event will be chaired by Derek Long, director of arc4.
